VAS announce transfer of VC Connect to Simply Connect
Voluntary Action Sheffield (VAS) has announced today the transfer of its popular software business – VC Connect – to a new company set up by the existing staff team, to enable the business to thrive in the software industry.
Maddy Desforges, Chief Executive at VAS, says; “I am delighted that having successfully incubated and grown our software service in VAS, the VC Connect staff team are launching it as their own under their newly established company – Simply Connect Solutions Ltd.”

The existing VC Connect services will continue under the leadership of Sirinda Bhandal, who has worked at VAS for over twenty years and originally developed VC Connect in 2006. The team of three have more than fifty years combined experience of delivering digital services and consultancy to the not-for-profit sector, and will continue to provide dedicated support tocustomers, whilst also introducing new developments and services.

VC Connect is used by around eighty organisations nationally, with almost 100,000 voluntary organisations registered to use VC Connect services. Over 50 local authorities use the Volunteer Connect platform to help place over 50,000 volunteers.
The ‘Connect Well’ social prescribing platform is used across Essex, Kent and in several London boroughs, providing an easy-to-use referral route for health and social care professionals into thousands of quality assured local community services.
